It’s been a heady 24 hours for Lumiette President & CEO, Noel Park. Yesterday he unexpectedly took a “Most Likely to Succeed" Award at Silicon Valley’s prestigious, annual product launch event, Launch: Silicon Valley.
As a result, today he was featured in a live, nationally telecast interview with Fox Business Network (FBN). Anchor Liz Claman and team have been in town this week, broadcasting their special feature, “3 Days in the Valley,” updating America (and the world) on exciting goings-on, here in the global capital of technological innovation.
Claman’s interviews this week have included CEOs of the region’s biggest names, including Google, Yahoo, Intel, eBay, Twitter, Symantec, and others. Shortly after Mr. Park’s interview, the seasoned business anchor sat down with CEO John Chambers of area giant, Cisco Systems. (It was Chambers’ first interview since his firm was named a Dow Jones Industrial 30 blue-chip stock earlier this week, replacing now-bankrupt General Motors.)
But, of course, every day, and dating back to Hewlett and Packard in 1948, Silicon Valley is carved and shaped by small but innovative startups, well before they become household names. With this in mind, Claman is also checking in with lesser-known firms such as Lumiette, who are developing interesting products with great potential, in their own right. Park was featured as one of the winners of yesterday’s Launch: Silicon Valley new product showcase.
Park arose at 4:30am today, in order to prepare and arrive early for his 7AM interview, broadcast live from Cisco Systems’ San Jose campus. Since his win yesterday, he’s been happily receiving congratulatory emails and calls. “I was up late, and up early. I didn’t get much sleep, but it’s worth it!”
During his network interview Park credited his hard-working team, and expressed gratitude for the recognition and visibility the coveted Launch: Silicon Valley prize should bring. “This award confirms we’ve been working on something worthwhile, and helps point our direction for the future,” Park said, following his FBN TV appearance.
