Lumiette "Most Likely To Succeed" in Clean Tech At Launch: Silicon Valley"

It was an unexpected thrill today when on behalf of the company, Lumiette CEO Noel Park won a “Most Likely to Succeed, 2009!” Award, for his presentation at Launch: Silicon Valley.

Hosted on the Microsoft campus, and co-sponsored by the software giant and Silicon Valley Association of Startup Entrepreneurs (SVASE), this 4-year old, annual event has quietly become the premier business and product launch platform in a region long known for its entrepreneurship and technological innovation.

Mr. Park and invitees from 29 other early-stage Silicon Valley startups each made six-minute presentations about their companies and their innovative products, plus entertained brief Q&A periods. Prestigious three-member jury panels, and assembled conference attendees, then voted for the firms they felt “most likely to succeed” in six different categories. Lumiette won the CleanTech division, over CSRWare (carbon accounting software), LiveGlass (smart architectural windows), SunPods (prefabricated solar panel arrays), and Windation (rooftop wind turbines).

The thirty invited presenters were culled from a range of nearly 400 applicants. While most were IT-based (internet and mobile applications), the CleanTech section for the most part comprised tangible products providing energy efficiency. Each of the six section winners received a Microsoft Zune MP3 player, a framed “Most Likely to Succeed, 2009!” Award, and $40,000 in donated business services.

When asked to comment, Park declared “This is a great honor. I’m very proud of my team, and appreciative for the product recognition by such a prestigious organization. This award confirms that Lumiette has been pursuing the correct path, and points to continued efforts in the same direction.”

Two of the six section winners – including Mr. Park – will appear in live TV interviews around 7:10AM PST tomorrow morning (June 10) on Fox Business Network. This, part of the network’s special feature, “3 Days in the Valley,” and will be broadcast live from the campus of another Valley giant, Cisco Systems.
